Yeah I’m not sure how a civilized back/forth convo got mis-read by somebody with no helpful response other than to flame w/o making any sense.

At any rate for the record, I have also seen 81/82 1-ton GMC pickups with the same strips. The 89-91 K5s and Burbs appear to have been a ribbed style and wider while I believe at least in 1988 on these models they are the same strips as the ones found on the 81-82 trucks too.

I wonder is something like this could replace the bad, this is a Chrome Molding Trim Bumper Adhesive strip, maybe not this exact one but im sure there are others,

That looks like a really good option, I'm going to pull the the set i have off the bumper and start messing with them. Last time I looked at them it looked like the chrome piece could be easily removed.

Interesting, I just happened to come across this gallery and this thread in the same day...the front bumper trim matches the body trim in the style of the GMT400 platform; while the rear bumper retains a solid rubber trim.

I'm not 100% positive but just from looking at the trim on my 90 suburban and the trim on my 95, it seems like the styling is the same but on the 90 bumper its twice as thick
