Well, I certainly won't be the one stepping on any toes. I have to do a Mapquest to see how far it is, but I gotta warn you I like my whiskey, and that puts my mouth in gear..

Seems like we have something in common besides trucks, my wife is partial to Wild Turkey 101 and I just kinda stick to beer. Want to here something funny, Kentucky is the Bourbon capital of the world and I gotta drive 10 miles to get beer and 25 miles to buy whiskey. Dry County.

Put this in Mapquest: 112 Beulah Church Road, Calhoun, KY. 42327

I'm getting ready to start back on my 72 here shortly.... Seeing all you've done is really helping me to get back in the mood.... Thats very impressive work. I'm just north of Louisville.... Maybe me and a another blazer buddy of mine can swing by sometime for a visit.

Re: Before and after.

Where can I find an uncut tall tranny cover? I have an NV4500 and twin stick 205 in my '71 long box and would like to use a stock cover on the floor to eliminate carpet fit issues. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I think all of the 4 speed Chevy/Gmc trucks and Utility vehicles had them, but these year trucks around here are getting scarce junkyards are crushing them. I'll keep an eye peeled for ya.

Re: Before and after.

you sir, are my hero.

my blazer needs the exact same parts replaced. Couple questions on the front floor support bolt. is that a reinforcing plate you can see in the first before picture? If so, how did you attach the floor to it?

Thanks

Re: Before and after.

I fastened it by laying the new floor part over the plate and aligned the bolt hole then I drilled some 3/8" holes through the new floor, but not through the plate under it about a 1-1/2' around the bolt hole. I then made sure the floor piece was against the bottom plate using a bolt through the existing hole and plug welded them together.

I had replaced the frame the first time I owned it, because It was damaged during a rollover. You could still get factory pieces back then.

Re: Before and after.

Did you use pickup floor parts. What is the section under and along the seat area called? I have much of the same problem. Between the rocker panel and angled up to the seat attachment holes. Thanks . Yours looks great.

Re: Before and after.

Looks like a good start. That front floor area is awesome work. I wish I would have replaced the whole thing. I instead patched the bad spots. I'm going to rhinoline or herculine my floors though. Kind of don't want carpet but it would keep the heat out from the engine bay more. Keep up the good work.

dumb question here as obviously you did it, but is that a good long term solution for surface rust? i was trying to set aside a day to crawl under mine with a soda blaster to hit surface rust, then paint.
does the encapsulator smooth out the rough, rusted texture and prevent further rust?
Thanks
