More nice work. Just weld a ring on there for a bungee. Not really, I'm sure you can come up with something better. Maybe a slot in the back, a piece of bar stock bent to lock into the slot that goes over the top and meets a tab on the front to bolt to. Simple, but effective.

Re: Used Parts Build

Box is done and mounted

The rear is starting to come together

I need to figure out how to mount my limit straps still. Bought some hard line for my fuel lines so I can try to keep making progress.

Re: Used Parts Build

Battery box looks good. If the battery ever falls out, it won't be for the box being under built!

How about mounting your limit straps in the shock bolts between the shock on the frame?

I used my brother battery to build the box before looking up the price of the Optima batteries...ouch!

I used your thread to set up my fuel sending unit btw. Thank you for that.

I was thinking the same thing about the limiting straps. I need to reassemble everything and mock them up to see what would work best.

Re: Used Parts Build

I need to work on my vertical up. I made a tab to bolt my ground strap to. I am trying to make everything on this thing easy to service and I though this would be a good idea.

Made a bunch of tabs to run my fuel lines and battery cable. I need to make some more for the other side to run my airline and brake line.

If you are going to have clamps on both sides of the tab, why not use some sex bolts to clean up how they attach to the tab?

To keep the rear end from dropping too low when I jack the truck up.

There is nothing to keep my rear end from dropping down enough to damage the bags or bind up the watts link.

Re: Used Parts Build

Got the other cross member bar welded on the other side. Moved to the front for a bit to get a break from working on the back.
Shortened my lower control arms 1.5''. Still need to finish welding out the other side and add a truss on the bottom side.

Re: Used Parts Build

Shortened my upper control arms. Tacked them together just to check the fit. I went 1.5'' with the lowers and 1.25''(ish) with the uppers. Might grind a hair more off because I am near 0 degrees camber with one shim and want a bit more room for error. I clear the hood hinges now. Still a bit tight with the turning. I get why the raised cross members tuck so much now. I might still go with a CPP modular spindle for that extra 3/4''. Ill figure it out later.

Checking for any binding or issues. Seems like I should be okay to lay out.

Re: Used Parts Build

Some terrible pictures for you...Upper control arms are done. Reassembled the front suspension. Shortened the tie rods.

Tapped the water pump for a steam port line.

Thinking it is about time to pull the cab and finish the frame work...

Thanks guys. Here is an update.

Going to try to finish out all the chassis work over the next few weeks. Pulling the cab was a pain! I wish I had the space for a lift.

Re: Used Parts Build

Started grinding off the por15 I did a few years ago. Going to shoot it with epoxy instead. Cleaned up my boxing a bit to make it look nicer. Welded on the tops of my body mounts. Need to pull my engine and trans next.

Made some new motor mount towers (again..)

Weld shot for fun

Finally able to lay out without the oil pan touching

Started the trans mount

Started laying out tubes to figure out how I want to build the inner frame stiffener
