Re: Green Interior

A friend is in the same position with his oem Forest Green (?) interior. Nobody makes anything for him. And it was a pretty standard color as I understand. Kinds sucks!

Re: Green Interior

I’m getting ready to build a seat with the Green velour/vinyl combo. It’s being made right now, but it’s been every bit of 4-5 weeks, so it will be ready soon. Once it’s built, it will be posted in the parts section for sale.

Not sure exactly what year your truck is, but I found some Dark Olive Carpet, for a 73-74, on clearance at:

Re: Green Interior

Hey, your welcome. And you should be able to get a cover from here:

https://www.usa1industries.com/1973-...n-tilting.html

They do have green. You'll probably have to call Randy and talk directly to him about the color. For some reason the colors aren't listed in the drop down list, but I know they do have green.

So if you want to lose the non-tilt seat and poor mans foam, that's on your seat. That green seat I'm getting ready to build, will work in your truck. It is a tilting seat and it's a 81-87. But it will still bolt up to the cab floor.

Re: Green Interior

Oh I almost forgot, if your needing seatbelts. There is a nice set of green on EBay, item # 152765639144. I have them on my watching page, in case someone was ever needing green. I know how hard it is to find that color, it is pretty rare.

My seatbelts are suprisingly nice thankfully. And i would love to get a folding seat but i want the cover to be exactly as it is now, style and color wise

I can't say that I blame you there. Call Randy at USA1 Industries, he should be able to help you out with cover. He has a guy that makes covers, he has made a few for me. And they are exceptional quality. There's a wait time, of course. Your other option would be to take it to an Upholstery Shop and see if they could make you one.
if you take the route of the Upholstery Shop, just make sure your frame doesn't need any repairs, like broken springs and such. And you can probably do your own sandblasting of the frame and tracks. An upholstery shop will only do the cover, and they will put it right over your rusty frame and not make any repairs. Most people don't realize that part.

Re: Green Interior

If you can't find seat covers, SMS Auto Fabrics in Canby, Oregon should have the original material. Couldn't find seat covers for my 72' K2500, they had the original vinyl and cloth I needed.

Re: Green Interior

Sweet, keep the updates coming. Is that just a dry fit for your carpet? Are you going to put anything else down under the carpet? Like this:

This when I did my truck. I got a layer a FatMat, then the original tar mat and on top of that, foil backed jute I got from Home Depot.

Re: Green Interior

Oh yeah, i wanted to see how it would fit with the low hump. I bought some sound deadener im going to lay down first, not too sure of the brand off hand tho. I plan on cleaning up all the surface rust and put down some paint first. Thanks again for the link to the carpet. Shipped quick too

I think most upholstery shops will do it, just make sure springs and foam are good before they make and install seat covers. Shops I have used will fix or replace broken springs and foam. Good luck.

Re: Green Interior

Can you post a pic of the sample you got for the seat?

The cover I was going to have made in green, is taking forever to get the fabric. So we are choosing another one. Most likely the 1st pic, the other one I think maybe too dark and clash with the green vinyl. Both are Tweed, and I actually like better than the velour.

Re: Green Interior

Check with Albright Supply. They have several options in green from $10-20 a yard. They have the matching vinyl also. Here's just 2 options from their site.

My 73 GMC has a green interior (sorta). The original paint was what I call chevy blue. It was repainted green and a previous owner started to change the interior. The seat cover is saddle colored, but the original is black. Not sure if I am going green interior or black. Maybe a mixture of both.

The inside of the door panels have some interesting color choices. One is "Avocato".

That seat looks nice, but that poor dash pad has seen better days.
