I forgot to mention that I'm running double 00 gauge cable not the standard 4gauge.

Bingo on the optima. This situation does not required higher cold cracking amp but needs a separate battery to run a compressor without harming the main running battery. Optima or any gel cell deep cycle battery will work better because they can be discharged and recharged without damage to the battery. I've seen optima yellow tops last ten years or more and get discharged on a regular basis.
