Re: Have you ever seen the original build sheets...both of them?

SPID's (service parts indentification decal ) were never installed inside the glove box door on 1960 thru 1965 Chevy pickups. This decal was first used in 1966 on Chevy pickups. GMC started using them in 1967.

Hey Tony I've left you messages and text and you have not responded. I need to get my build sheet from you that's at your shop, how do you want to do it? Are you going to mail it to me or do you want me to come get it? Just let me know.

Re: Have you ever seen the original build sheets...both of them?

I hope this is the right page to do this on.

Found a build sheet behind the seat and found the other one that should have been on the glove box lid mixed in with the receipts. The vin # from that one matches the cab/drivers door vin and the left lower frame stamp above a arms. All good so far...

Now, but the one behind the seat has a different vin# in the upper right corner. Number is C1546Z111953 and if im not mistaken that is a seat from a longbed out of Freemont Ca production unit number 11953, can anyone tell me if this is correct ?

Also I found this protection plate but I don't know much about. Can anyone tell me how legit these are ? It has the original owners name, address, engine and tranny paint code stamped in upper left corner, along with the delivery date along with the Chevrolet Dealer. I read that some were fake but im wondering if there is a way to find out if this ones legit ?

Re: Have you ever seen the original build sheets...both of them?

This thread is almost 2 years old, but hopefully it can be revived!!

My daughter and I found the build sheet behind the seat of her 65 C-10.

Here is an overall:

Upper Left:

Upper Middle:

Upper Right:

Lower Right:

The last (3) RPO's 4V01AA stands for Heavy Duty Radiator, 4Z52A? is a Full Foam Seat, with Vinyl Trim, and the 4Z53?? is the Ammeter,Oil, and Thermo Guage RPO. I still do not know what the (3) 4SDT options mean, but will keep looking.

Re: Have you ever seen the original build sheets...both of them?

Murdoc, and barebones66, do you have better pictures that show what the options on your build sheets say? If no pictures, could you type in the info, so everyone can read it?

4dranch, does any of the paperwork you found show anything for the options? If so, would you be able to add them as well?

It says that lilred66's account is suspended. I don't know if he has a different one, or if he's banned, or what, but if anyone has that info as well, please post it.

Thank you!!!

Re: Have you ever seen the original build sheets...both of them?

Do any of the six digit numbers match your VIN number from the build sheet. C1545Z Then the production number, did they call it something different on the sheet?

Re: Have you ever seen the original build sheets...both of them?

If I remember, we double checked that the number on the upper right (165248) matched the VIN, and it did, but I will have to confirm that when I get home tonight. I thought about that right after I went to bed last night, and meant to check it before I left this morning, but forgot.

Re: Have you ever seen the original build sheets...both of them?

Sorry no pics. My 65 c10 has 2 sheets. One still in the seat back. Other was found under the seat but was removed by PO. Still have it along with the proteco-plate and the original licence plates (tags) and all the registrations from when bought by original owner till when stored in 1988.

That's cool 72freak, it sucks that you just sold it though!!

Geezer, do you have any pictures showing the options listed on the bottom up close? If not, do you have any options listed as 4SDTD01, 4STDD20, or 4STDD21 that you could tell me what they mean?

Re: Have you ever seen the original build sheets...both of them?

What I would like to know, what was written on the french fry? Seriously which side of the back rest are you finding the build sheet, passenger or drivers?

chevy man5 have you checked the stampings on your frame to see if they match your VIN?

Re: Have you ever seen the original build sheets...both of them?

Aerotruk, ours was almost in the middle, slightly towards the passengers side.

I have not checked that. but will do that when I get home. I talked to the PO, his Grandpa bought it new, then drove it for about 25 years, then passed it onto PO's dad, who drove it for about 10 years, then on to PO, who was driving it up until last fall. He said as far as he knows it has never been in any wrecks, except when his grandpa didn't set the e-brake, and it rolled into a tree.

Running from memory I think the frame is stamped on the drivers side, near the front end, but I can't remember for sure. I will look the location up on here if I can't find it there.

Re: Have you ever seen the original build sheets...both of them?

1 Serial number on the frame stamped on the drivers side on the top flat section of the channel frame beside the motor and 2nd along the vertical frame rail section beneath the cab. Is there any differences between a 65 cab and a 66?
