Front end alignment

I rebuilt the front suspension on my 72 c20 longhorn. I had the alignment done by local tire shop. Im having two problems. The steering is so touchy it’s almost unsafe. Also the steering won’t self center after going around a corner. I took it back to the shop, they checked the alignment and said it was in spec.
Any suggestions?

Re: Front end alignment

Sounds like a bad alignment to me. It is getting hard to find guys that know how to align old trucks.
Do you have a copy of the specs as it stands?

Re: Front end alignment

Mine was like that after I rebuilt the front end. Anything over 40 was scary as all hell and would not self center. Turns out I installed the centerlink backwards and the alignment guy didn’t catch it either. I swapped back to normal and had it realigned and it’s all good now.

Re: Front end alignment

Centerlink is what I was thinking also. All too common

Here's a recent thread about this:
