I had forgotten to take a picture of the new sway bar bushings when I put them on on Tuesday. The project was well worth the money, and there has been a major improvement in driveability. I would highly recommend anyone to get a sway bar if their truck doesn't have one

On Friday, in preparation for the Deep Roots car show in downtown Milledgeville on October 20th, I finally gave Frankentruck a bath after 3 years of ownership. Cleaned up decent for the sponge that I was using. If you are in the area, and don't have any plans for next Saturday, come on out to the show. It was a really good show last year, and there's always lots of people

Yesterday, I drove up to Gainesville for a family reunion. Found out that several of my family members had 60-66 c10s back in the day.
After the reunion, I drove straight down to Milledgeville. Had no issues the entire trip, and I only burned about 5/8 a tank of gas for the whole day. I say that's pretty good considering that the old engine burned almost a whole tank just from Hickory Flat to Milledgeville

Yesterday was a day full of good times, friendship, and driving around in my rust bucket.

The car show started at 9, and the weather looked to be good at the beginning. Got to meet jhrusk and his wife, and admire his absolutely beautiful 66. It's truly a work of art, and gave me some more motivation to keep enjoying my truck and fixing/upgrading stuff along the way. Huge thanks to them for letting me hang out under their tent when the rain showed up
There was a break in the rain for just enough time to give out some awards. Jay's truck got the Orilley's pick, and Frankentruck got a top 40 award. That's the first award Frankentruck has ever gotten, so I thought that was pretty cool.
It started to rain again after the awards ceremony, so most of the cars left. I then went to meet some friends to carve some pumpkins, and of course I had to do something c10 related. Not bad for an amature carver like myself.
After that, I spent the rest of the evening with more friends around a bonfire, and to finish it off, we had to do the usual Cookout run at 12:30.

We had a great time as well. Hate the rain showed up but still had a great time. Good to meet you and will be in touch. Frankentruck is a very cool cruiser.

Thanks! I'm running 255/70 r15s all around on 15x8s. I love the look the wider tires give up front, and even though I still have manual steering, it's only hard to steer in parking lots. Out on the road has no issues

Oops...

Got a headlight relay harness yesterday from Summit racing, and it showed up today. I did not realize that the grille had to come off so I could get to the ground wire screws. Oh well, it's only 8 bolts. It started to rain though, so that was unfortunate. I'll finish up the install tomorrow. Good thing I don't need to go anywhere tonight

I didn't want to leave all my parts outside overnight, so they got to take a nap inside. Once I got a break in the rain this morning, I started putting the grille back on. Once I finished bolting it in, the rain picked up again, so I had to stop. My new seat belts showed up while I was waiting on the rain to pass, and I must say that the quality looks real good. I have not opened up everything since I won't be able to do the install until Thanksgiving break. Got too much school work to do, and school must come first.

The rain lightened up a little bit so I didn't have to walk to class and get soaked. After class I finished up installing everything, and I am very happy with the limited results I have seen. I have not driven the truck yet because I still need to get a screw to mount the relays, but just by looking at the brightness today, I am happy. I'll do the night test tomorrow and see how it turned out

Finally went and got a screw so I could mount the relays instead of just letting them hang. Because the harness required the relays to be close to the battery without any modifications of the harness, I wanted then to stay out of sight for a more stock appearance. Under this panel, I don't know what it is called, was the perfect place to hide it while still keeping the relays easily accessible.
The lights are definitely much brighter now, but I think they need to be aimed better than what they are at.

When I switched from the 2 barrel to the 4 barrel, I had to lose the old air filter housing. Made me sad, but I wanted to drive the truck. In my quest to make under the hood still appear somewhat stock ish, I want to go back to the original housing. Any ideas on how to make it work?

Maybe you could take the top housing of your old air cleaner and put it on the base of the new air cleaner? Or cut the the bottom opening of the new air cleaner out and do the same on the old. Weld in the new opening to the old? Or find an original four barrel air cleaner off of Craig’s list or swap meet. Just ideas. Looking good. Keep up the work.

I thought about your first idea when I was getting it running again, but I never found a base that was big enough. I think my best option would be to cut the bottom out and weld in a quadrajet opening, but I don't have access to a welder. I will look for something at a swap meet for sure, thanks man

Yesterday I drove up to Athens to meet my family for the UGA vs Auburn game. The drive back to Milledgeville was the true test of the new relay harness. I can actually see now. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the brights seem to be almost as good as the newer Civic that my mom drives. I currently see no need to upgrade the headlights any more considering they are so good right now, just need to get them aimed properly and I'll be good to go

Drive home earlier this evening for Thanksgiving break. Frankentruck continuously surprises me with how well she handles highway speeds. 2600 to 3000 rpm for several hours without skipping a beat

The speedometer is way off. It reads slow by I think around 15 or so mph. Also the light inside my tach went out so that really sucks

After getting back home Tuesday night for Thanksgiving break, I remembered that I had bought an Igloo Little Kool Rest car cooler from Robbie (GAc10boy). Picked it up on Wednesday, but didn't take any pictures of it until today. I absolutely love it, and it works really well. Kept some Thanksgiving leftovers nice and cold on my trip down to Milledgeville today, is a really great cup holder, and even functions as a nice armrest.

My family and I had Thanksgiving dinner around lunch time on Thursday, so I was planning to start installing my new seat belts after the feast. That didn't happen though because the Thanksgiving nap lasted most of the afternoon and I didn't feel like going outside to work on it

Woke up Friday morning and spent some time greasing the control arm bushings which I had neglected to do for far too long. Also checked the rest of the fluids and filled where needed. After lunch I started on the new seat belts.

Since I had no idea what I was doing, I started on the passenger side so that I wouldn't have to deal with the gas tank at first. I was able to reach up inside the B pillar with the anchor plate taped to a wrench. It was easy to get the passenger side bolted up, so I started on the driver's side. Got the hole drilled, but it started to sprinkle and get dark. The gas tank stumped me because I could not get my hand up the B pillar at all due to the filler neck being in the way. Threw in the towel for the night and cleaned up.

All day Saturday was spent with my family watching the Dawgs beat up on some ugly Yellow Jackets

After church this morning, I knew that I had to figure out how to get the seat belt on without moving the gas tank. Needed to drive the truck down to Milledgeville so I can go to the meet on the 8th. After trying to double up with a second wrench taped on, it still was not long enough to reach. I then tried the big screw driver, but did not have the right angle at first. Once I had the right angle, I was able to get it bolted up. It was definitely a project for 2 people, so I was very thankful that I had my dad to help me out.

I got the belts from SeatbeltPlanet.com. They are super nice, and worked great. I will buy from them again if I ever need to put seat belts in another truck. I went off the measurements that I found on the FAQ here, so huge thanks for everyone one here.

I am slightly sad that I had to remove the 68 Cadillac lap belts, but adding the shoulder belt makes me feel much safer, and it is much easier to adjust the belts now. The Cadillac belts were very hard to adjust since they were original GM stuff
