New to the Forum with A 47 International

Hi my name is Nate and I live in Nampa, ID. I am new here and love looking at everyones builds. I am aquiring a 1947 International truck that has a factory flat bed on it. I think it does anyway. My Father in law is giving it to me and his dad use to own it. So it has been in the family for a really long time. i think they bought it from the military in southern california. I will have to look at the title and see when they got it or see if I can find more history on it. the truck has been in my father in law's barn for at least 10 years. He said it was running when he parked it. He lives in Yakima Washington area and we are headed there next weekend so that I can get a look at it. i hope to just get it running and driveable for now and later on start modifying it.

I plan on putting a mustang II frontend on it. Not sure If I am going to drop it the extra 2 inches or not. I want to put a 350 motor into it with a 4 speed auto trans. Do a bunch of custom work on the inside of the cab. i have a few idea's running around in my head. I wouldn't mind having a bed on it but finding one is probably going to be very difficult. I hope to get some pictures of it when I go up if it's not too buried.

I look forward to find some information on this site.

That's awesome that you snagged an IH. My buddy rebuilt a '50 or '51, I don't remember off hand. The thing turned out gorgeous.

I personally am a huge fan of Binders, since we run Farmalls. A simple utilitarian design.

Here's a pic of my buddys truck:

Well it won't be a real quick build but I will do as much as I can when money calls for it. First thing is to get it driveable.
