5.3/4l80e RCSB build

My buddy bought this truck about 2 years ago. It Originally had a 4.3 and a 5 speed. That got swapped for a 468 and th400, then got swapped for a 5.3/4l60e. The last setup he had in it was a 6.0/4l80e with a on3 76mm. I recently aquired the roller in a trade. My plans are a cammed 5.3 on a 175 shot, decent built 4l80E with a 3600 stall edge converter.

On our way to TX2k15 in Houston

Re: 5.3/4l80e RCSB build

Headers showed up yesterday. I got the paint stripped, v-bands welded on, and repainted with a few coats of vht.

Those headers look good, what brand are they? I like the v-band flanges welded on them also.

Re: 5.3/4l80e RCSB build

So are there fitment issues with these? I've used the on k5 and k20 but never 88-98 orbs? You still running stock column linkage? Clearance? Truck is coming out badass!!!

Re: 5.3/4l80e RCSB build

Perfect fit, but I do believe there is a fitment issue with the rod style column linkage. This one has a cable.

My exhaust is done. Dual 3" into a Magnaflow x-pipe and Magnaflow race ovals.
Sure wish I had a lift.

Re: 5.3/4l80e RCSB build

I rolled the truck out last night to clean the garage up. Driveshaft is in, fuel filter and lines are ran, now all I need to do is clean up the engine harness and graft it into the body harness.

Re: 5.3/4l80e RCSB build

Well I decided to get rid of the 80e. I pulled everything and traded it for a t-56 swap. M12 t-56 out of a GTO, Monster Stage 4, and a B&M Ripper.
