$1.39 Kick/Floor Vent Repair

So..pulled my passenger side kick vent so i could replace the foam. Found same foam at JoAnn Fabric for $1.39 a sheet...

Traced, cut and riveted...

Hey! Thanks for posting that! I was wondering how to repair these. Yours turned out nice. What kind of foam did you use? I tried to read the label for details but couldn't make it out.

Dont know the brand..my friend loaned me his riveter and a jar of these. The part that smashes down is just under 1/2 inch. I used 9 of them. First i pushed them all through and lined everything up and then used 2 small clamps to to hold the two pieces together. Once i had a few of the top and bottom rivets done i removed the clamps and finished up.

How much foam do you leave past the metal halves to make a good seal with the vent opening? Yours looks like its about 1/2" past the edges. That about right?

Danny... not 100% sure.. Once i drilled out the rivets and pulled the vent apart i used the old gasket as a template.. but yes.. it probable about 1/2 inch
