Post Son moving to So. Calif. Emissions on 70 pu.?

My son is moving to So. Calif. in a couple of weeks. What does he need to have his 70 Chev 1/2 ton with a 350 cid and 350 trans to pass emissions? He also has a 72 Jag. with a chev 350 in it also.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

nothing older than 74 will be smogged from what I understand. It was passed a couple years ago.

No Smog required on 73 and older vehicles in California. They also just passed a law which require some areas to get new smog machines which is a dynomometer which will make it much harder for cars to pass. My buddy is a smog tech but in our little town they aren't making him get a new machine yet. Just in the heavier populated cities I guess for now. Lumpy

I agree, something needs to be done. I understand the smog is pretty bad in L.A., bit there has to be another answer besides not letting anyone drive.
This is one of the main reasons I didn't move to L.A. when I got out of the army.

Go figure! Arizona you have to emission everything 67 and newer. Got to emission my 71 next month and wife's Tahoe next month, also. They tell me 96 and up are passing too well, so now they plug in the computer. If they get a code, you fail. Neat, huh?

We don't even have an anual inspection here.
(how else do you think my GMC is on the road?

buster - Thank goodness the Camaro is a '94, because it will set a code every time...because we disconnected the skip-shift solenoid. =P

This will be the first year we have to emission the Suburban, though, I think...

I don't mind having to run my truck through, it passes with flying colors every time now that I've got it tuned up right. And even if it didn't, I've got a secret weapon, muahaha...an odd carb base gasket that makes the Q-jet run insanely lean!

Hmmm...it'll be the first year to put the Benz on the sniffer, too...
