Question? Power steering on I beam AD thread??

I was looking for one of the threads showing the CPP or Brothers or ?? front mount power steering conversion on an AD truck but my search powers seem to have failed me.

Anyone remember who's thread it was on?

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Question? Power steering on I beam AD thread??

I can't think of anyone who has installed one on an AD solid axle. There are some folks here who have installed a rack on a TF truck.

It looks like hsdropout did it.

bomber66 also has a rack on a TF axle.

Maybe mechanixman or coupeguy2001 has done it also?? I can't quite find it now.

Got my power steering installed on a AD solid axle and lowered. Works perfect.

Apologies...

I thought you had asked for a steering rack. I didn't catch the "front mount" portion.

No this was the unit that uses a front steer box. If I were doing it on my truck I'd go with something like that. This was trying to help someone who bought a truck with the setup already on it. I've been trying to figure out how to put together a simple cross steer setup for years but have never just got down and worked on it and seen it through.

I wonder if you can just slap a 80s 4x4 chevy box on the frame and then go with the same year push pull system. Would probably have to make some custom drag link and other stuff to get it to work

That's kinda what I'm doing on my old beater but using a dana 44
