Seat belt repair

Has anyone torn apart/rebuild the female portion of a seat belt? The old ones we have are probably from a mid 70's Blazer, and the drivers side doesn't latch anymore. Didn't know whether I should just chunk them and start over new...or newer...

NOTE: This is kind of weird. Just noticed that I have join date of Dec. 2017 and only one post. Not sure what happened, but I've been here for quite awhile, maybe since 2008. Don't post much as I know virtually nothing useful to this group, but there are the occasional questions that come up. Anyway...

Re: Seat belt repair

There are just too many good working used buckles out there to risk trying to fix one. Unless you are working on an extremely rare color belt, I'd look for a replacement. Safety is not something to risk.
