rear end swap

I have a 67 gmc 2wd and I picked up a 73 - 87 rear end. Can anyone tell me if the spring mounts and shock mounts are the same or do I need to move them. Any info helps.

Re: rear end swap

on my leaf spring 70 the 73 and up's spring perches were 1/4 inch further apart....it was set up as a tow truck with 12 leaves and hi arch,so i just pried them in...ran it like that for 20 years...when i restored it i removed the spring perches and made 1/8 inch spacer plates between the perches and the frame so it fits properly now...had to cut one shock mount off the rear and swap it from back to front cause the later rear had one shock ahead of the axle and the other behind...mines a 12 bolt

Re: rear end swap

Thanks for the info. I picked up the rear end this afternoon and was able to measure it all out. I've decided to hold off on putting it in until I order some goodies for it, it's an open diff so that's gotta change.
