Your truck is one of my favorites on this site! I'm sure you've posted this somewhere, but what are the specs on you wheels? I have a '69 SWB Fleet that I'm building back as a '68. I upgraded the front to 5x5 discs and a late model 5x5 rear axle. I want 18x8 (255/45) front and 18x9.5, or 10 (295/45) in the rear. I think I understand the backspacing, but this +/- offset throws me off! Yours seem to fit perfectly!

Thanks in advance,

Danny

Re: Lets see all out show trucks

Thanks Danny....much appreciated! I measured many times to make sure I got the look I wanted.....fronts are 18x8, 4"bs w/ 255/50 rubber and rears are 18X9.5, 4.5" bs w/ 275/55 rubber. Remember....mine's got the wider rearend so you could get away with a little less bs.
bs=backspacing which is the measurement from the backside lip of your rim to the wheel mounting face.

BTW.....great looking trucks everyone!

Thanks for the information, its much appreciated! You mentioned you have the wider rearend. Mine's from a '71 or '72 and measures 57" plate to plate. Is that the same as yours? I want as little space between the tire and fender as I can safely run.

Thanks again,

Danny

One of my favs on here so far! Great stance and perfect wheel & tire combo! Not overly done on the tire & wheel size. I'm not real crazy about the ones with all wheel & no tire. You need some sidewall for flex for a somewhat comfortable ride. Do you have any pics of under the hood, the bed & of the interior? Would love to see those too.

Re: Lets see all out show trucks

Thanks texjake! I take any compliments to heart as I have a lot of pride given that I built 95% of my 72. The only things I didn't do is build the short block, trans, and stitch the front seat.

I was fortunate enough to get a feature back in November of 2012 in Custom Classic Trucks.....here's the web version for more info and pics.

http://www.customclassictrucks.com/f...olet_cheyenne/

I've been a member here for many years and I am constantly amazed at the quality of trucks on this site and the great info and entertainment provided by members. Not too many days ever go by without me looking at some "jawdropping" build and thinking "why didn't I do that"!...LOL!

Thanks again...Jim

Sure.. rub it in. The old inline and 2spd powerglide would make a 5 hr (one way) trip a killer for me.

Maybe it's time to upgrade a few parts.

That's such an honor to make it into a magazine. I can't say that mine will ever be that nice, I'm just trying to get mine to level to be able to use & drive daily, such as repaint the wheels, new tires, new brakes, new wood bed, new heater core, new carpet & seat cover & get the A/C working before the HOT Texas summer gets here, etc..... & try to keep it original and factory stock as much as possible.

That's awesome. Congrats on the magazine article!
I had a photo shoot back in Sept for Classic Trucks and have been patiently waiting for the article to come out.

Thanks Sicklajoie! Congrats back!.....I remember hearing the news that I was going to be a feature and then waiting waiting waiting......Bet the waiting is killing you!

So many trucks here are worthy of magazine coverage.....it is TOTALLY a right place right time thing.
