2003 Z71 Dropping Transmission Pan

I have an 03 Silverado K1500 Z71. It recently turned 100k miles, so I decided to change the transmission oil/filter. The problem is to get the pan off their is the shift cable bracket in the way. It is mounted to the transmission with 2 T40 torx head screws. They are siezed pretty well. Using a 3/8 drive ratchet wouldn't budge them. Yesterday I sprayed PB Blaster (the best I could) just to start soaking them, hoping over time they would free that way.

Any advice? Have you ever run into this issue?

I usually use a pry bar and bend it over until it hits the driveshaft. That will give you enough room to wiggle the pan out. When I'm done, I just bend it back

Re: 2003 Z71 Dropping Transmission Pan

Thought I'd drop a note and say I was able to get the shift cable bracket off without bending back the bracket. Used a flex wrench and a T40 bit from craftsman.
