Interchangability of Beds
Hi.
This may be a very simple question and my common sense says it can be done, but I just have not done it before and I want to make sure. My son is looking at a 1998 Chevorlet 1500 extended cab pick up with the step side bed. He wants to switch it to the Fleetside bed. He has access to a 6.5 foot long fleetside bed and wants to put it on the step side bed truck. 1. Will this work without any modifications? Thank you.

Re: Interchangability of Beds
He will need the fuel filler for the fleet side bed.
The plastic on the top of the rear bumper will be a few inches short on each end. That part is minor. |

Re: Interchangability of Beds
I would have never thought of the filler neck until it was too late. Thank you.

Re: Interchangability of Beds
Yep. I'll second this. These are the only differences that will matter when it comes to the swap.
