Took the cut out from the firewall and I am making a custom bracket for the wire harness. I will mount this up under the dash for the harness to connect to. More on this as it progresses.

This looks like a pretty cool idea. I'm interested in seeing how you use this bracket.

Re: Good 70 SWB

Got some more completed this weekend. Filled in the speaker vent in the dash. My doors already are cut out for speakers I may reuse them or buy kick panels. Also filled the opening for the original gas fill tube. Will relocate this to rear.

Cut out my AC vents and the opening for a 2 DIN DVD,NAV,GPS unit. Used Vintage air templates for the AC locations. Pretty much done with the metal work on the cab. Will start body work and getting it ready for primer.

Re: Good 70 SWB

Hey buddy, in this picture are the holes left the only ones needed for the brake booster and steering column? I notice your wire harness pass though hole is gone. Are you moving it? Where?

I still have a bunch of holes and don't know for sure which ones to fill?
take a look at mine:

Mcbassin missed your comment sorry for the late reply. Yes the holes left are for the break booster and the steering column. In previous posting I showed how I cut out my wire harness holes. I will be relocating it under the dash and coming out near the fresh air vent. I have also filled in all the EBrake holes and am removing it. I have been working on the body work for the firewall trying to get ready for primer so have put off the wiring harness relocation temporary.

Re: Good 70 SWB

Ok so this is what I ended up doing to move my wire harness completely under the dash since I shaved the firewall. Feedback is welcome as this is my first time with this and am hoping that it will not come back to bite me .

I cut out the wire harness area from the firewall and made a custom bracket out of it so the harness would mount right back to it. I move this under the dash in similar location as where it was located in the firewall just set in 3.5 inches. This allows me to get the 2 piece harness on.

I have cut 2 holes near the fresh air vent for the wires to enter through. Then 2 more holes in the bottom of the vent to exit and then they will continue inside the fender and routed from their as needed.

Picture of the area and the 2 holes that I put into the fresh air vent.
