Wheels

Ok so I know that this topic has been discussed to death but I have the original 16" split rims that came with my 3/4 ton frame and while I kind of like the vintage idea I just don't like the split rims enough to keep them. And the rivets or spot welds or whatever they are inside the rim are hitting my wilwood dual piston calipers up front. So now I'm looking for a correct looking wheel that will fit my truck but not look too big or out of place. My questions are what size wheel do I need to run? how much room do I need between the wheel and the top of the caliper? And how much back spacing would look correct without the wheel looking like it's dished too far one way or the other? As always thanks to everyone on this forum that has helped me with this project so far.

Re: Wheels

While those look good in not sure if they would clear the calipers. I know that the square body rims won't due to the rivets in the back.

Re: Wheels

My wheels don't have rivets. They're welded. I would get one wheel and test fit it. They were designed for disc brakes. Plenty of clearance on my factory calipers.

Re: Wheels

I will have to try it then, the rivets didn't hit the single piston calipers but for whatever reason they're hitting the wilwood calipers. Knowing that they're welded in the back though is a bit help though as there are a lot of good tires still out there for a 16" rim

Re: Wheels

Did you get them off a Ford or from Rock Auto as I can do either. I know there are a few cans around that era and older at the junkyard I frequent but rock Auto has them for $67.79 a wheel.
