'06 Chevrolet Tahoe Owners-Chime In Please

Wife and I are looking to up-grade from our '99 Tahoe to an '06 Tahoe. Need a question answered by someone who owns an '06. Our '99 center bench seat operates as such: The lower seat cushion rolls forward up against the backs of the front driver & passenger buckets. The center bench back cushion folds FORWARD and lays flat with the rear cargo area making a nice flat 6', plus a little over, flat cargo floor. The center seat headrests remove from the back cushion and slip into mount holes in the rolled up lower seat cushion. Does the '06 Tahoe work in the same fashion? The flat 6 foot floor area is a real requirement for wife and I as there are times we load folding 6' tables on edge with assorted cargo and need the flat floor 6' length to do such. Hope this all makes sense and someone can verify that that is how the seats fold in their '06.

Just sitting here at the computer and thinking about that situation, have not actually found an '06 we want to look at but have decided the '06 is as new as we want to go for right now. Thanks for any feedback. I can do pics if a better explanation is needed Saturday.

Yes, the second row seats fold the same way.

Some Tahoes have a third row, they are removable without any tools.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping the '06 seats operate the same way being it is the same model. The '07 changes with the seats no longer leaving a flat cargo floor was not one of the General's brighter ideas. Why make changes like that which take away from the original intent of building a multi-purpose vehicle which would include cargo hauling. Guess because engineers and those who design vehicles just like to change things for the sake of change?

The 07+ fold flat too, just differently, but it is flat only if you have a third row seat. And it is a higher platform.

On the 07+, fold 2nd row seat back forward only(do not tumble the seat forward). and then fold the third row seat back forward.

The purpose of the vehicle is changing. They are designed as people haulers now. Not cargo haulers. The majority of people buying these are people that want a minivan without having the stigma of buying a minivan.
