epoxy primer is 2 parts that you mix together before you spray it .
any mixed primer left over will harden . so clean it out of your spray gun after using it.
and never put any leftover mixed primer back in the can with unmixed primer it will harden .
I have been doing bodywork and paint , working in body shops for over 40 years
and I prefer to put body filler on bare metal that has just been grinded clean .
