HEI in 1971 4X4

Hi Guys,
I was wondering if there would any clearence issuse using the Summit HEI dist.in a 1971 4x4 short bed.The motor is a 307.Thank You!

if it's the same diameter as a standard GM HEI, it'll be real tight and probably hit if you're off roading. i personally run pertronix in mine and have had good luck with it.

I also run a pertronix, and also have had good luck with it. HEI will fit but like he said it is very tight.

Thanks guys,I'LL look into that!We put a HEI into my son's 69 chevelle and WOW what a difference.But like you guys said ,there isn't much room in the 4x4.

If your body mounts are worn out probably will be issues. I put new body mounts in my K5 and a factory GM HEI in it and it was tight, but it did fit.

If you do I would go with a stock style HEI with no top cap over the plug wires. I would use a $50 skip white HEI and get new cab bushings if needed.
