205 Output

I have a 53 chevy pickup on a 86 4 x4 frame
zz - 4 and 205 transfer case from a 1/2 ton
It has the flange type mount on the front
the problem is the stock drive shaft comes too close to the tranny
is it possibel to change to an out put for a plain u joint instead of the
constant velocity setup
I need 4x4 only at low speeds and on dirt etc

Are you saying the drive line is too long? Non CV can be used if the angles are right at the pinion & T-case.
Take pics
I'ts fairly easy to shorten a drive line if you can weld...

BTW ~ Love the rig!!

Re: 205 Output

The problem with no CV on the front is that you need approximately the same angles on both yokes. The tcase side is going to be pitched up towards the front on the truck while the axle would need to be rotated down in the back to match. Check out Tom Woods drivelines website for a better explanation with pictures. It might work for offroad only. Cool truck.
