Cab Trim Install

I am getting ready to paint my cab on my 72 c10 and wanted to paint the cab white. I was wondering how does the cab trim to separate the white from the body color mount? Does it require holes to be drilled for the mounting clips or does it attach by adhesive? Thanks for any and all advice.

Re: Cab Trim Install

I think the bedsides (top trim) were the only adhesive applied. The rest are holes. You can see my build for some pictures, though I haven't installed any trim as of yet.

Re: Cab Trim Install

There are about 12 or so studs welded there. a clip mounts on the stud and the trim snaps onto the clip

Re: Cab Trim Install

Are you talking about the trim that goes on the back of the cab above the bed?
If so, yeah you drill holes and then install the little clips with rivets.

Edit* Sameyrasmea72 is correct about factory setup with studs. I assume you are adding the trim to a truck that never had the divider.

Re: Cab Trim Install

Yes, the cab has never had them installed before. Is there a way to use adhesive to put it on? Thanks.

Re: Cab Trim Install

Not likely adhesive would work due to the design of the clips. They need a stud, or if you really want to you could drill a bunch of holes in your cab and screw or rivet the clips on.

Re: Cab Trim Install

The trim and clips with fasteners are sold as a kit. They are easy to put on. The clips use a small screw to attach to the cab and the trim simply snaps onto the clips. I would suggest Mar-K as the brand. You can buy direct from Mar-K and I believe some board vendors carry it. There is a HUGE difference between the off shore VS the Mar-K product.
