Boy I dunno. I really love these old trucks but the truth is, the first set of spark plugs last longer in a new truck than the whole truck did back in the day. A freind of mine bought a 1949 chev 1 ton from the original owner. With it, he got the owners manual and all of the original paperwork. The warrenty on that truck was 90 days or 5000 miles. GM had alot of confidence in their stuff back then

Haha... That's an interesting piece of trivia there. You're right, a 90 day warranty doesn't instill a whole lot of confidence does it? I still want one!

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

Here is the '63 that my kid worked all summer to buy... now I am working on it lol.

It needs a bed and the gauges hooked back up, but it already has a 350 with 350 trans!

That's a nice looking truck. No better way to become popular with your kid, than becoming the resource for help and money!

The wheels almost look like the old American Vectors on the General Lee, and are probably hard to come by now.

thanks markeb01!! I was sooo surprised when she found this on Craigslist!!!

I wasn't sure about the wheels but now that you mentioned it - it does remind me of the General Lee haha. All I know is they won't look any better than they do now - they are course and the patina did not change a bit, even after wheel cleaner, degreaser and a blast from the pressure washer!!!

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

[/IMG]New to the board. Have owned a '69, a 55, and an '85 in the past, I missed having an old truck I picked up this '63 in up near Atlanta. along way to go, but it is the year I wanted. The wrap around windshield looks good with my 57 Belair. Anyway, been here for a while, just finally registered

Thanks. It looks better the farther you get away from it, but I'm planning to change that. It's going to take a lot of work to clean up some areas of the truck (like the extra gas whole cut in the bed), but I like it.
