Help determine this connector : '04 LS

Posted this on the electrical forum, but I know there are smart guys here.

I've reworked my harness from my 04 Buick Rainer 5.3 (swapping into a 49 Chevy truck on S 10 chassis.)

I'm good on everything but this connector. Can someone please help me identify?

is it the inline gauges connector? the one that connects to the body harness to pass the sender data to the gauges? I have an 03 S10 with an 0411 and there is a 16 pin connector on the engine harness that doesnt look exactly like that, but that is what it is for.

Do any other connectors break out in the same area, and what are the wire colors going to the connector?

where did it break out of the original harness? near the fuse/relay panel? possibly goes to the front bumper harness plug right near the fuse/relay box and connects to airbag sensors and lights etc?

Re: Help determine this connector : '04 LS

it does look a lot like the connector that goes into the cab area and connects to the cluster, accel pedal body control module, air bag module and the other fuse/relay panel behind the drivers seat. can't think of any other single connector that has that many pins. was it located right next to the underhood fuse/relay panel? on my 04 envoy the plug has a lever that pulls the 2 halves of the connection together and locks them in place. I don't think the other plug near there has as many pins, for the bumper air bag sensors and lights, horn etc. check colors and compare with wiring diagram

check the bottom pic in post 68, it shows the connector I'm talking about. that connects to the main harness going back to cab.

or this one in post 28. it shows the connector with the big grey lever style lock on the connector just on the inboard side of the fuse box

Looks like the TAC module connector to me. The TAC module is normally located near the master cylinder on the firewall.

Re: Help determine this connector : '04 LS

Wow guys, thanks for the responses. I didn't pull the engine initially... just got block and harness from yard. So I don't have any idea where it was connected. If you think I don't need it, that's the answer I'm looking for.

Upon further inspection, it appears that it may be part of the drive by wire system. Although I was expecting a connection like what is on my pedal (aftermarket).
