My truck just died at intersection, try jump start it cranks but won't start. Would a bad alternator cause this?

Did the battery die? Reason for the "jump start"?

Check for spark, If none found.....Check the distributor cap for a missing button & a hole blown through it.

Check fuel pressure, 60-66 is spec.

All the lights starter everything just died. I thought it was the alternator so I had it checked by autozone they said it was fine.

Check the battery terminals/connections.......Not just look at them, Take them off & disassemble them, Clean them real good & see what happens.

Re: 2003 Chevy s10 4.3 died at intersection

I finally figured it out, I ended up having a bad battery and a bad fuel pump. Replaced the fuel pump and battery and back on the road today. Thanks for the help I really appreciate it! It just goes to show sometimes we can have two or more problems and not even realize it. Always keep an open mind to tracking down a problem. By the way i did clean all of my connections and added anti-oxidation lube to the connections for a more reliable connection. Thanks again!
