thanks Dale!
more the work thing keeping me busy right now, working out of town all summer, 12-13 hr days...but the pay is worth it
while waiting for the body to come out of the stripper, fixed the hood.
it has a real deep relief cut to chop out a hole in the hood. last OBS i did, the relief cuts kept ghosting threw the paint on me

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd

after 3 days in the stripper, the body was starting to look good. got the basic cab together. since both trucks were regular cabs, there was not enough roof without a gap, so i had to add a half inch of 030 to close up the roof. and this one is NOT going to be stock need to do something big & bad
this was plan "B", 37" dawgs-just not bad enough....

our posties are back at the bargining table, still delivering, so i took a chance last nite on plan "A" and ordered some 49" iroks for it. i hope they make it here and not end up in never ever land...
i scaled the height roughly, somewhere around here....yeah, that should do it...

and i found these old firebird buckets that sort of match the rear, made some headrests to try make them look more alike...just waiting for the other int to come out of the stripper, then build a crew tub

thanks Dale!
this crew has been S-L-O-W! been rippin' off some serious hrs at work, no time after work, as well as being all tired out...
check out the hrs on my last pay, has been steady like this for the last 2 months-not complaining though, loving the money..

I know what you're feeling. I just got done with three rough weeks. We were doing 98 hours in seven day pay period. We're back to 40 hour weeks for a while. The trucks looking good. Enjoy your time off, you earned it. I'm finally going to my cabin.at the end of the month....WOO HOO!!

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd

98 hrs in a week is cranking them off Dale!...your time-off is coming up quick
been back a week and it feels like i never left....another 68 hr week. push is on to get a couple schools done before it starts next week...did get most of the susp. dialed in, just some fine tuning & hit it with some chassis black tomorrow. thinking going 2-tone, brown over tan, see what paint i got kicking around

Wow, it's looking great. The exhaust has the cat and dual tail pipes. I see a lot of detail and it's awesome. I hope your weather holds a while.

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd

thanks Dale!
weather has been pretty nice last little while, still racking up 120 hr paychecks, getting nothing else done...and then of course this weekend it pours, second day off in 3 weeks, figures....
so i drove 50 miles to the hobby shop today and splurged a bit for all my hard labor last few months.
got this '50 chevy i wanted to turn into an extended cab (love them roundy fenders) but the hobby shop had no '50's in stock for a donor
Name: 082.jpg

cost me 70 bucks, but came home with these 2 trucks instead. have always wanted a first gen blazer, and i snagged the '66 cause i have a spare short-box. took a chance my spare AMT box will work with the Revell box- there close, pretty sure i can make a longbox out of the two
Name: 084.jpg
Views: 248
Size: 51.4 KB

had a plan of attack for the blaze (already ordered 38" swamps for it & the '66) but really liking the feather decals-mite go that route....with the 38's. and i gots a proper bumper with turn signals for it
Name: 085.jpg

still crawling along on the crew- hoping to finish it in the next couple days
first color of the two-tone........................................and the second color

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd

Wow my favorite color combo on the squares and that body style. It looks great! New projects will be cool too. I still kick myself for selling my Blazer. My girlfriend and I just got home from a 1200 mile ride on my Harley. We had pretty good weather the whole trip. It was abit cloudy and cold on the coast but nice coming inland and south coming home.

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd

had planned on chrome bumpers, but when i masked the rub strip off for paint, the tape lifted half the chrome off of them- so black they are, which also meant blacking the mirrors cause they looked stupid chrome with everything else black...

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd

That came out great. Lots of detail as usual. I noticed the battery and engine tune/smog decals on the shroud, cool details. I like the bumpers black. Yeah the ride was fun. Except for a few hiccups it went well. I do miss my Blazer. My dually V3500 is back on the road. I dont want to lose a timing chain ever again. It causes too much damage. ..lol

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd

454 Dale?
just did the fuel pump in my crew, 454 was idling like it had a .600 solid lifter cam in it....
started on the '66 first instead of the blaze. blazer will be pretty much stock with just a lift, the '66 presented a little more of a challenge, mixing 2 different brand boxes... as you can see they were'nt a complete match
Name: 093.jpg

bed floors are also different, pattern is not even close. the long holes in the bedsides were the revell stake pockets i shaved off, the amt ones were better, they at least have the stake pocket holes. got the length bang on compared to the '72 longbox
Name: 092.jpg

i figure i will cut out the bed floor & do it in wood, which i just happened to pick up...

the plan, mild lift on 38's. them rims are going on the blaze, thinking ordering steelies to go with the nice hubcaps in the kit

Yep it's a 454 and it's feeling great. It hasn't felt like this since it was new! I have always loved them 60-66 trucks. This is gonna look great.

It's looking great. Hood fits beautifully and the wood in the bed looks great too. My next project will be getting ol blue on the new frame. I miss driving it too.
