"The Bull" 1953 - 5 window

Well after a long search for a AD it finally has started to take shape. I have been playing with the 67 to 72 trucks for quite sometime. I currently have 1967 LWB with 78K on it. I have changed some small stuff on the interior and it came with a I6 and 3 on the tree and it has been swapped out for a 350/350 combo. I have refrained from changing much more than that but I do have everything to put it closer to the short grass instead of the tall weeds if I so choose.

I have been looking for the right AD for quite sometime. I just couldn't find the right truck for the right price. Just about every truck, I looked at was either over priced for what was there or way to far gone to even mess with. I had a couple of chances to buy trucks that were already done but they just weren't done like I wanted so I knew I was gonna make changes and therefore it wasn't worth it. After a conversation with Skymangs and seeing some of his work. I knew I wanted for him to build me the right truck as soon as I found it. He offered to look for me a truck near him. So between the two of us looking, a 1953 with 5 window cab was located. The truck is solid plus someone has already started to do a S-10 chassis swap on it. The truck is pretty much complete.

Over the next few months you will be able to keep up with the build here.

The current plan is...
Patina Paint
S-10 chassis swap
stuff a LS engine with a Automatic
True dual exhaust to exit forward of the rear wheels
Fuel tank under the bed
Interior will be modernized but will retain stock appearance
Visor
Ride height around the 5 inches

and.... of course Skymangs magic!!!

Here is my 1967.... and NO it is not for sale.

(note: The bed molding was being replaced when I took this picture last year)

Re: "The Bull" 1953 - 5 window

Here is the start of the 3 to 4 month process... Pretty solid but as Skymangs' says it is in a thousand pieces.

Can tell its going to need a cab corner or two in this pic

Bedsides are in pretty good shape... Not much repair work to do

The hood is solid as well

For a truck that old those bedsides and fenders look to be in awesome shape.

They really are in nice shape! I was impressed with how solid the truck is. It is becoming challenging though to keep each of these builds unique. I'll be looking to do a few special touches on Bull to give him a little extra swagger!

Re: "The Bull" 1953 - 5 window

Most of you know that Chris was injured very badly in a shop fire a couple weeks ago. I have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help Chris (AKA SKYMANGS, Ole Sarge) and his family with medical expenses. Please share this with as many people as possible. Chris was the first to help with any questions, lets see if we can help him out here: Chris Klapp, AKA: SKYMANGS, Ole Sarge
