Re: Fargo Truck
Common up here in Canuckland.
Here’s a wiki on them. That one in the pic is known as a ‘pilot house’ cab. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fargo_Trucks https://www.google.ca/search?q=pilot...&client=safari Another nickname was ‘Fargone”. |

Re: Fargo Truck
Fargo became Dodge pickups. They do have a nice look and a strong following. I agree that I think finding stuff for them is tough and $$, like most MOPARs.

Re: Fargo Truck
It's just a Dodge with a different grille and emblems. I'm not saying they didn't do drivetrain differences or any other differences, but the body and chassis will be same as Dodge parts. It would be cool to have a Canadian model down here. I'd kill for a '66-'69 Beaumont or Acadian SD!
I wouldn't mind owning this '67 Fargo W300:

Re: Fargo Truck
Looks a lot like the 68 Fargo my dad bought new. Outfitted with a flat deck, live roll, gin poles and headache rack. Set up for oilfield maintenance. It was a 4x4 but pretty well useless in the snow. Good truck for moving mobile homes though.
He had it a few years and then got an International set up for trailer moving only. Good memories from only 50 years ago! |

Re: Fargo Truck
Pretty cool you got a memory here of your dad's old Power Wagon.
Yep, pretty neat to see a Mercury truck. How about Maple Leafs? What was the deal with why they were able to just go GMC before Ford and Chrysler? They still used different series designates (910-930 LT)

Re: Fargo Truck
An M1 just sounds cool doesn't it. Merc trucks are scarce down here of course.

Re: Fargo Truck
Okay I’ll clarify from what I know, Fargo was its own company and started in fargo and then was bought out by dodge in 1928. I live in fargo and the building I’m pretty sure they were built in is still standing. (From when fargo built them not dodge)

Re: Fargo Truck
Funny, this evening I grabbed a magazine randomly from my library to thumb through with my evening cigar and cocktail. It had a nice article on this truck series. I remembered this thread as I read the article. Nice write up.
Here's the volume so you can dig in your mag pile. https://ertelgiftshop.com/vintage-tr...13-vol-21-no-4 j
