Pedal Adjustment on a 2014.

I recently had a losing fight with a patch of ice and a concrete barrier and now my trusty daily driver '01 S10 is totaled. I am going to the dealership tomorrow to order the replacement truck a 2014 2WD doublecab LT with the 5.3 and custom sport and convenience packages and Bose speakers.

When I test drove a truck they had on the lot I loved it except for one thing, the throttle pedal was really stiff. I'm used to much a much softer pedal and was wondering if there is a way to soften up the pedal feel on a 2014.

Re: Pedal Adjustment on a 2014.

They changed the way the gas pedal works the new one is more like a brake pedal than the old gas pedals where you pushed down it pulled the throttle cable (i miss it too)

Probably safer this way the throttle is less likely to hang but i still miss it.

Re: Pedal Adjustment on a 2014.

Chevy trucks haven't used a throttle cable since 2005. 99-06 trucks used a simple coil spring for pedal tension. I actually felt the pedal in my truck was too soft and replaced it with a much stiffer spring. Looking at my dad's '08 I don't see an obvious 'tension spring' like there is on 99-06's though. I'd bet the 2014's are even more abstract, although I'm sure there's a way if you look deep enough.

the single contact pedal has been an aggravation since they came out, i miss the old ones you could put your toe under and lift, it rocked and felt like a gas pedal
