Fender dust seals

Has anyone here added or replaced these seals (#1 on diagram ) are they really needed since my truck came without them?

They keep dust from going up into the door jamb area. The dust cannot get past the door seal into the cab. It just helps keep the door jamb a little cleaner.

I replaced them with new ones from Classic Parts when I had the doors and fenders off. Really not sure that they do much, but the old ones were in pieces and for sure didn't do anything.

I probably wouldn't add them. But they are super easy to replace if the truck is apart....

my 2013 Nissan Versa has them too. maybe they cut down on noise as well

well since I have no way to mount them correctly. guess I will spend that $20 on something else
