Does anyone know what size the bed mount wood blocks are? Thanks.

On a 1953 style pickup, where the bed mounts to the frame, there are wood blocks used as spacers between the frame, and the bed. I was wanting to know the exact size they are suposed to be. Mine were rotted away so I couldn't mesure them. I want to use steel instead of wood.

The set I have are aftermarket but the dimensions are:
2-5/16" high x 2-3/8" long x 1-3/4" wide

PDW, it depends on your cross sills. The important thing is the stacked up height of each cross sill and its wood blocks should be the same height as the rear sill mounting brackets. Original cross sills were a little over 1-7/8" tall including the bracket and the rear sill bracket is 4" tall. Typically 2-1/8" would be a starting point, but measuring on your truck is best. The bed should sit level on the frame and all mounting points equally share the support of the bed when installed. If your frame is tweaked so the bed to frame mounting points are not all exactly in the same plane, you may have to adjust some points up or down to accomplish this. The sketch in this instruction http://www.mar-k.com/bed_mounting_information.pdf will illustrate the idea.

Thanks. My frame is good, and I thought a little over 2 inch should work. I have to add a little extra though. I got a new front bed pannel, and the hight was not correct. The tailgate was terrible also. I returned the tailgate, but I did not notice how far off the front pannel was, so I kept it. I got a new tailgate from Mar-k, it was very nice, and I wish I had goten a new front pannel from them also. I guess I lerned a lesson there.
