Adventures in truck hunting.

So today I found a 67 c20 on Craigslist that I really liked. It had some rust, but all in all, it is a pretty solid truck. And my instinct was to go buy it. It has coil springs in the rear. When I started looking really close at the pictures, something looked out of place with the rear axle. Then it hit me, the axle had been swapped to a semi-floating corporate 14 bolt. It looks like someone welded control arm and panhard bar brackets to the 14 bolt rear.
Once I saw that, I decided to pass. Has anyone seen a semi-float 14 bolt swapped into a coil sprung c20?

I could be wrong but I think C20's came with Leaf springs.

I swapped in a 2002 14 bolt in my 68 C-20.If it was done right it is a great swap.Mine also has coils.

Re: Adventures in truck hunting.

I agree with El Dorado. Plus I will add, when I see something I just assume it's indicative of the way the owner did everything else. A prelude to other things you find after you get it home. If you put in the corp14 why not go full floating. I'm missing the boat on that one!
