You know Markeb01 I remember that brown GMC from when I first moved to North Idaho. I drove by there a few times and had always wanted to ask about the brown GMC but didn't have any money at that time. So one day with a few bucks in my pocket I drove back up there because all I really wanted was to buy the dual headlight grille and front bumper, and as luck would have it they were gone.

And man you would think with all the parts picked clean off any 60-66 truck I find at a junk yard there would be thousands of them running around Spokane but I hardly see any.

Some from a junkyard back in south GA. Luckily the owner doesn't crush old iron.... I will definitely be going there and seeing if I find anything of interest.

A few BBW cabs. I know of someone looking for the fishhook moldings on the side of that green and white 60-61. There's the stainless windshield trim on it and a chrome rear molded bumper! Man would I like to see more of that truck. A/C?

I personally haven't been there yet, my dad sent me a few pictures of the yard while he was there. I doubt much of the stuff there will disappear before I get home and go to GA so I can probably take orders on what people want/ship it out.

Yea definitely, I wish I had found the green and white apache back ten years ago when I was first looking for these. It probably would be in a lot better shape than it is now. I have more pictures I can post of the yard but they aren't 60-66 pickups, but definitely more old iron.

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread

Well the railroad cancelled again today, so I started getting Trailer fever and decided to go to Roblin's Garage. http://www.roblins.net/index2.html

Mr. Roblins a great guy with a stockpile of parts and knowledge. Not a lot of stuff but his barn is hard to walk through and he knows where most of the stuff is and what he's got.

Don't put stuff on the seats!

So you take the ashtray gauges and other crap but leave the Deluxe knobs behind

These are those removable front tunnel sections that are handy for 66 C10 cabs with the fixed tunnels. You can bolt a low hump or high hump section to it.

THOSE hoods, none were any good.

Squirter on the blue hood!

Ok so it wasn't last year they were brought into the yard!

I know exactly how you feel.... If I can rescue another one when I go to the yard when I get back I probably will.

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread

I got a Deluxe seat cover off of one of his big trucks and used it as a pattern to make up a new covering for my 64 GMC that I had. He laughed that it was so dried out and that I still wanted to pay for it.

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread

Got my grill guard for the K10 and inline A/C parts from them when I was traveling through the great State of Texas. They let me walk the yard which I find re-centers me with the planet. All is good when you can inhale all that old truck odor.

Leon's in Culpepper, VA. Loaded with old stuff. Best to go in fall or early Spring--place is loaded with overgrowth. Prices are ok--nothing cheap. Place is worth checking out just to look around if nothing else. 100 acres packed with old stuff only. Call ahead and get there early--he has weird hours.
