My 63 Chevy C10 project

Here are some pictures of my pickup project. I've been working on this baby for about 2 months now. Rescued it from the jungle it sat in for 27 years. Let me know what you guys think!

COOL good save from the jungle unfortunately that's how a lot of these trucks wind up. sitting or parked for a numbers yrs, but sometimes it doesn't take much to bring them back...is it a 1/2 toner or 3/4 toner..it has some serious patina going on with the roof and the top of hood, must have caught all the sun...I like them vette valve covers. is it a 3 spd or 4 spd...have any shots of the inside...how's the wood in the bed did it survive...Also dig the spot light too

Thanks! I payed $200 for it. It's a 1/2 ton. 4 speed. The engine was out of a 30's ford roadster show car that my boss has and restored back to original. This motor has hardly any use.. I'll try to find more pics.. The bed is good from about 6" from the front back.. It had a camper shell on it for its whole life.

Re: My 63 Chevy C10 project

As you can see, I need lots of patch panels! I lowered the from about 3" and need to lower the back about 5-6.. Doing this in two weeks and having the exhaust built for it so it's not so crazy loud to drive, then I'll start doing the patch work. The awesome thing is, even after sitting since about 1988 and several owners dying.. I still have the title! I still have the original 292 I pulled out of it I'm going to rebuild to keep with the truck...

Re: My 63 Chevy C10 project

It's been a while since I've posted anything on the build.. I've decided to keep the patina and do some patch work. I have the rockers, floor pans and cab supports in the shop ready to install as soon as I get time. I'll post progress pictures. I have lowered the truck using CCP 5" springs and struts in the rear, and chopped about a coil and a half up front for about a 3" drop. As of now the spring chop was to get an idea of where I wanted it to sit when I order heavy duty drop springs. With the tired old springs it's sitting on the bump stops and will take them out when I get a stiffer Spring. The wife and I and our kids have fallen in love with this truck! It's at the exhaust shop now getting fitted with 2" duals and silver line glass packs. I got to drive it for the first time to take it up to them. That was a rush. It's fun to drive something you have revived from the dead. The 327 is running like a top now that it's timed and the 2jet is tuned after the rebuild. Lots of blood sweat and beers into this thing already and can't wait to further the build! I do however need to rewire from the column all the way back to the tails, so if anyone has a diagram for that I'd appreciate it! I also need help identifing the transmission. It's a Muncie 4 speed and it has the drain plug on the bottom. Looking to see fluid type and capacity? Also for the rear end. It's the factory 12 bolt. Also any hints or tips on a posi rear end? Thanks for the help guys!

Re: My 63 Chevy C10 project

Got the exhaust done! 2" duals with silver line glass packs. I haven't heard it yet since I'm out of town chasing helicopters for the east coasts fire season, but my buddy went and checked it out for me. Said it looks awesome and sounds even better! Can't wait!
