Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

I decided to modify the frame stiffener mounting. I removed the PBFab boxing plates and replaced them with CPP boxing plates. They fit the frame extremely tight and are longer than the PBFab ones. They will be welded in and all the bolt holes filled. I still haven't decided if I am going to bolt the stiffener or weld it in place. What do you guys think? Would there be any reason that I need to remove it in the future?

I also started installing the front body drop mounts but I don't have any pictures of that. Hopefully I can make some good progress this weekend and post a few updates.

Looks good. I'd weld it in...I hope my frame doesn't have all those holes...

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build

I got the front body drop mounts and crossmember installed. I still have a few more bolts to install but it's pretty much complete.

I call for welding it in. The only thing I don't like about all the bolt in aftermarket members is that it looks like a hardware store puked on your frame.

Nice progress,I'm gonna jump onboard and follow along. You've got all the PB parts that I plan to order so hopefully I can pick up a few tips and tricks along the way.

I agree which is why I'm welding in some of the stuff. I wont be welding everything but definitely eliminating a ton of the hardware.

Thanks. The PBFab parts are awesome. Definitely worth the investment.

Only a minor update for today. I worked on filling more of the holes in the frame. I haven't ground them down smooth yet but they are slowly getting filled.

The swiss cheese look wasn't working for me. I think this looks a lot better.

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build

More welding and grinding. The top of the front boxing plates are welded in and smoothed out. Got the new rear frame boxing plates tacked in place. I also decided to weld in the stiffener. It's just tacked in place for now but will soon be fully welded in.

They are from Classic Performance Products, 17" long and fit snug in the frame rails.

They are an extremely tight fit. I had to hammer them in to place but I would rather they fit tight than loose. It probably took me about 10 min to get each one in to place. Nothing a rubber mallet and some patience can't take care of.

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build

Hi, my name is Chris and I have a problem. I can't stop welding in BOLT ON parts.
Since I'm spending all this time filling all the holes in the frame, I decided to weld in the rear notches. All the bolt holes will be filled and the welds smoothed out.

Re: Pink's 68/72 - Dropmember Equipped Build

Tons of welding and grinding lately. Not much of an update but I'm really happy with the way the notches look welded in and smoothed out.

Just for future reference, tell Nate you want the weld in version and he'll send it over without the holes Just to help save you a few griding discs

Looks great so far! I'm just in Carson, we should hook up sometime so I can check out your project in person.
