Re: who has done a frame swap?

62 will fit best on a 60-62 frame.
2nd best would be 63-66
3rd 67-72
73+ isn't worth the work. And it won't sit right anyway.

Re: who has done a frame swap?

Years ago, before I knew better, I put my totaled 65 on a 62 frame.
The front cab mounts don't line up, and the bed mounts are further apart on the 60-62 because the frame gets wider in the back.
Also, the front frame horns are different = the bumpers won't interchange.
Not too much work to put a 62 on the 63-66 frame.

Re: who has done a frame swap?

In Washington state, I would suggest checking with your local DMV or WSP and ask what is needed to make a frame and body swap legal in your state. You will have a truck that has a different VIN on the cab than the VIN on the frame.
