HID headlights for 96 GMC?

I want better headlights for my 1996 GMC and think I will be getting HID conversion lights. Has anyone changed over to HID or LED lights and how do you like them? I also think I would need to get new headlight housings when changing to HID? Anyone found good housings that work well with HID / LED headlights?

Thanks for the help.

Re: HID headlights for 96 GMC?

i have in other vehicles...major improvement if done correctly.

do not run HID in a NON HID projector housing, way to much light scatter and it impairs on coming drivers.

you need HID Projectors, look into retro fit source or retro solutions for kits and parts.

also, , this guy live about 20 miles from my former residence. i have know of him since 2008, he does awesome work, has great service and is very help full.

HID too expensive to get and to keep

Forget HID. Bulbs are expensive, ballasts are expensive.

I switched to these a year and a half ago and they are great.

I got the 9005's also.
