Re: 98 Suburban 2WD/5.7L AC Issue - HELP
You do know when you vacuum a system down, it has to remain under vacuum for a while with the vacuum turned off right?

Re: 98 Suburban 2WD/5.7L AC Issue - HELP
Yes sir. The shop just called a while ago and even with the new evaporator installed and the dash removed and all that money spent, it still will not take Freon. The shop is replacing the condenser under warranty as it's brand new - they are hoping that is the problem.
They did chastise me pretty hard about putting tape on the threads to the condenser, but in all fairness whoever owned the truck before me did that. I was just copying what they did. In the end I hope they finally figure it out as this as been going on for 3 weeks. I don't know what to think. If the rear expansion valve was clogged wouldn't that only affect the rear air? When the air stopped blowing cold it all went out. It all stopped blowing cold. |
