'98 Chevy c2500 v8 350 Vortec - no start troubles
Truck hasn't started in over a week.Recently replaced the starter, had my battery charged and tested, had my fuel injectors cleaned, recently replaced the head gasket (and all the gaskets along the way), replaced a broken exhaust valve in cylinder 4 and some other small replacements as well. I am left to believe it's a compression problem. I think one of the 8 bolts in cylinder head may be broken, would that cause a no start situation? I’ve lost my job and soon to lose my place of living if I can’t get her running and get back to working, I’m at my wits end and have under $20 to my name. Any insight is greatly appreciated! Made a video to show the cranking and she actually tried to turn over which had not happened in any previous attempts and nothing was changed from the last time before this video. Sorry if the video isn't very good, first time making one that wasn't just for personal keepsake.

Re: '98 Chevy c2500 v8 350 vortex - no start troubles
comes down to basics. Fuel spark and compression.
Assuming you put the distributor in the correct position, check for spark at all 8 plugs If 3 or more loose spark, it will not start. Check fuel pressure. Check compression all 8 with fuel pump shut off and throttle plate wide open. Incidentally, if you have a credit card, you can charge a rental car and not have to pay the bill for at least 30 days. Just something to think about. |
