That’s the wheels I’m talking about you bet that kinda flukes out maybe I’ll toss my leftover 12 bolt open diff from my 77 build in and toss the extra money into some of the tedious missing interior parts haha

It doesn't cost anything except time to do a trial fit if you already have the pieces.

In my searching last night I found out that there is a facebook group just for those wheels.

Snooping on Tire rack they show the generally available tire sizes for a 22 inch wheel as far as car/light truck tires go.

the transit wheels you speak of, are they the solid face wheel with no holes and usually a small moon type cap?

Yuppers, just those plain wheels that a lot of GM trucks are shipped with now. They are supposed to be returned to GM for the next round but a lot of dealers back door them rather then sending them back.

I'm thinking that all too many original wheels were getting skinned up in shipping or getting stolen or the customer just didn't want original wheels and tires from the get go.

As I said before there is actually a Facebook group just for guys who run that style of wheel https://www.facebook.com/groups/621910912144876

Re: 52 gmc 6 lug rear axle options

my concern with a full dish wheel with no holes is brake heat. I guess thats not a probkem or the guys with those wheels don't wanna admit a problem. lets go with "its all good" haha.
I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and ran plain wheels because I couldn't afford anything fancy so a plain wheel for me is not gonna happen.

Re: 52 gmc 6 lug rear axle options

I’m up in Canada and run discs so my last set were not and issue but I could see heat being a problem in warm climate. You can snag these transports with tires up here as low as 600$ cdn a set then it’s 120$ for the kit to run the factory dish caps so it’s a cheap persons dream haha I’m the cheapest person I know
