I ran with Mini Effects. Had the 91 Black Toyota extended cab, ended up going wild and shaving everything, snug top with a walk-thru. Sadly this was before the digital world and through the years I've lost the Kodaks.

The truck drives well- aside from the slipping tranny. I have bartered a new tranny in exchange for some upholstery work. I'm gonna recover a friends Mini Cooper seats for a rebuilt 400. I'm all about bartering, so if you need upholstery just let me know.

I think I remember that truck and the club. I grew up in S'ville. Had my Vega back then, a lot of you mini truckers made fun of, lol! I'll keep you in mind about the upholstery.

Wow, thats pretty cool; you must have a good memory. I think i recall a white Vega... Of course I don't really remember to much from those days. Ahhh the carefree days of youth! Give me a shout if your around the ville sometime, maybe you can teach me a few things about these C10's.

Update!

I bought a can of Stripper from Auto zone today and stripped my grill of the Black Krylon. It turned out much better than I expected. Took me about 2 hours start to finish; check out these before and after shots.

It did make a huge difference in the looks. And it's in better shape than I would have thought.

If it were my truck, with that level of cancer, I'd do as suggested and build a cab on the side while driving this one and fiddling with mechanical work. You have a good trans on the way, go ahead and do a mexican blanket interior, polish all the stainless and trim, flat black it(right over the rust just let it be what it is), slap some red steelies on it, and cruise the hell out of it.

WHen you have the new cab ready, slap it on. Then start on the bed.

Moving forward I took the seat and carpet out to investigate the floor boards. Surprisingly, they are in good shape with the exception of the huge patch on the hump. I think i'm gonna loose the floor shifter and put the shift back on the column.

I also removed the hood and front fenders getting ready for the donors I picked up yesterday. I think I got a pretty good deal. 2 fenders, a hood, and radiator support for $120.00. The hood is in near perfect condition, much better than mine. The fenders are gonna need a little work and so is the support. However, they are much better shape than what I am dealing with.

I met this dude out in Hollywood with a parts truck, all he needs is the cab and chassis. I'm still holding out for a cab. I really need to replace the front roof section on mine. I figure if i go ahead and restore the front clip I can move it to a new cab if I ever find one.

There's a '70 C20 on craigslist for $1800 if you want a second parts truck. Utility bed and all! Don't know how good the condition is. It was on a week or so ago so maybe they would deal.

SCORE!

71 Hood, 2 Fenders, Radiator support and a driver side wheel well! $125 Bucks!

All in good condition. I cleaned them up, have a little repair work to do- but nothing near what I had with the others. I wish the fenders weren't deluxe, I would really rather not weld the trim holes but, beggers can't be choosers. At least these are complete and I don't have to graft patch panels. Anyone need some deluxe trim, or a horn? It's yours for the taking.
