Squares w 2-piece driveshaft

Looking for info on a 2-piece driveline setup. I need to go that route after a trans/t-case swap in my 85 longbed. Any pics w/o the bed or underneath would be great. Looking to see how the carrier bearing is mounted and if it's on a bracket or a separate x- member.
Thx in adv.

Re: Squares w 2-piece driveshaft

Is it the same height as the t-case output shaft? Does that first shaft run parallel to the ground? Where does the slip yoke go? Sorry for all the questions. This was an issue o hadn't thought about until the 11th hour.

Re: Squares w 2-piece driveshaft

the slip joint in mine is at the hanger bearing..the spline section of ds goes thru the hb....there is a little down angle on the first section of ds to hb,,but not much...from hanger to rear diff the ds is down angle as well....mines 2wd,not 4wd , but the same applies to both...is your missing?

Re: Squares w 2-piece driveshaft

On our 79 c30 the slip yoke is the rear shaft to front shaft.

Our carrier bearing is almost directly at the back of the cab.

Yes front shaft runs parallel. All the angle is in rear shaft

I can prolly get pics tomorrow if you need em

Re: Squares w 2-piece driveshaft

perfectly level is not good...it needs some angle in ds to keep the u-joints lubed...the angle in the joints keeps the needles moving around in the cups...
