fender alignment

I am having a problem lining my fender up , it seems like my core support is an inch high . When i bolt the fender on by the door gaps are good but the front is WAY down. Then i lift the front up to try and bolt to the core support and the top of the fender hits the door!!!!

Re: fender alignment

About the same problem I have.....I've decided to put it together the best I can, get it on the road, and take it to a real (experienced) body shop later on for their help. *Attempts to hire, pay all travel expenses, etc., for a forum member to help me have proven futile.

Are you putting new rubber cab and core support mount bushings in it? If not the originals may be rotted and flattened out.

It also makes a difference if it is a 1/2 or 3/4 ton chassis what kit you use....

What he said...Need new rubber in all six locations making sure your using the correct mounts for the correct application. Fine tune with shims, all fenders were shimmed top and bottom to some extent at the cab...

Re: fender alignment

it could be that the cab/core mounts have settled. you dont want to simple replace the core support ones, just like was said above, replace them all. old and new settle at different rates.

and maybe check the core support itself. maybe it got tweeked in an accindent
