Re: FITech Experiences ?

I already ordered the FCC through summit for 375.
I guess I'm really trying to decide between the $995 and the $795 one.

400 vs 600 HP. The 600 give you room to grow just saying. Don't ever limit yourself. That just how I feel.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

Fwiw I would order from jegs. They told me it ships direct from FITECH anyway so I doubt you will see a delay in shipping and you can order now. I definitely will so I won't have to pay sales tax plus I can use PayPal and get 6 months no interest.

Too bad I found more crap to fix on mine before I get to this step

Re: FITech Experiences ?

I'm becoming an old man.
Fast and Powerful are things of the past for me.
My engine is a 283 built to a 327 with a th350. When my engine goes goes, I'll probably just replace it with a gen 1 350 crate.

Well sounds like you need the 400 hp then. But saying your old naw you are only as old as you feel or act. My wife tells me I act like I am a 5 yr old most of the time lol. God Love here. Either way you will be happy!!

So I was talking to FiTech today and got the scoop on a new system that should be out in the next 30-45 days. This will be their Go Street version, which will be selling at $795!!!

What they are doing is using injectors to support up to 400 HP, no timing control (which many of their customers are not using with their higher series units), no boost or nitrous control. It still has the self learning, wide band O2 sensor and much of the same functions that the 600HP unit has.

This is going to put a very affordable EFI system in reach to so many folks who thought it would be too expensive. Heck, add their Fuel Command center and you won't need to do any fuel tank mods. I am hoping to get one of the first of the Go Street units!

Video they just released - https://youtu.be/LK-qLlGotUU
It looks like Jegs has it now.
According to the site it does have timing control.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

The video Mike links says the GoStreet 400hp doesn't include timing control.
If you look at the wording on Jegs' site, I think Jegs just copied and pasted the description from the FiTech Go 600hp.

Easiest way to find out is just give FiTech a Call. That way you know 100% for sure.

Will do.
I do think I want timing control as a possible upgrade down the road.

I just posted what the guys at FiTech told me. The guys who designed it. Just saying. Plus I don't run vacuum advance and my dizzy was tuned/curved with my motor on a engine dyno. So I k ow it is dialed in. Also the FiTech can only adjust 10 degrees of timing. That's what I was told. Either way you still are going to ha e to dial it in to start with no matter what. Trust me I was going to drop the coin for a nice 2 wire external coil setup and a CDI box all that stuff and I was told if the HEI is dialed in don't waste my money. So I kept the HEI. Now I did upgrade the module to a EFI friendly one. I ha e been running the piss out of it reading log and watching timing on handheld no issues. If the FiTech controlling the timing is better I would have had no issue dropping the coin and I told the guys at FiTech that. I still would like and try the timing control feature cause I like that.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

Now if it is better to let the FiTech control timing you bet I will jerk this HEI out and get what is needed for the FiTech to control timing. Haha..

Re: FITech Experiences ?

I may never want/need Timing Control, but I'm thinking I may just order the $995 one just so I can go that direction if I ever decide to.
I'll continue my research and post here if I find anything interesting.

That's a good video. I don't understand why he needed the two piece rotor though. What is gained by having that? He didn't seem to need to adjust it at all.

I sent them an email.
Either way, I'm getting the 600.

You know what would be cool...
If they could make their ECU communicate with your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth and an iOS/Android app.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

Okay,
Ordered the Fuel Command Center yesterday.
Ordered the 600hp $995 Fitech today.
Is everything I need included, or is there anything else?
.
Got a couple weeks off from work coming up.
Let's see if I can get my truck back together and drivable by the end of February. :-)

As far as I know you got it covered on that side. Get butt connectors and heat shrink wrap. I like to get the heat shrink butt connector plus heat shrink wrap over the heat shrink butts.

I forgot you probably will have to get a different air cleaner base depending on the drop in the base.

Re: FITech Experiences ?

Well based on the great info that 'RodsGreen10' has provided on his build thread and here along with some other reviews I'm going to bite the bullet.
I will be getting the 600hp version and the Fuel command. (looks like the same as 'LostMy65')
I'll probably get through Summit just because I have had good luck dealing with them when I built the engine. Looks like they aren't shipping till mid-January but I won't be firing it till the Spring anyways.

Cool.
Yeah, I went through Summit also. They've always done me good. Also free shipping. Did you notice they have the FCC for $20 off?
