Backspace Question

I'm sure this has been covered a million times and I've searched/read all the threads I can find. I'm going to change wheels on my '72 with a stock width rear and run a drag radial setup. I've decided to run the 295/55/15 M/T tires.

The rear wheels I'd like to use are 15x9's and come in either 5" or 4.250" backspace. I'm thinking the 4.25" would be just inside the fender lip and the 5" might be too narrow. Opinions welcome.
