Smile Manual transmission swap

I need some advise from the guru's. I have a 1970 GMC 1/2 ton long box, with the 350/350 combo and 3.07 rear gear open diff. What I'm asking for is advise on which manual transmission out there, Muncie/Sagina, should or could I use. Not going to be a dragger or auto crosser, (not yet - LOL) just for cruising around both city and highway. 1st gear burn the tires, 2nd gear chirp, 3rd gear cruise, 4th for highway. I will be changing the rear gears to either 3.42 or 3.73 with locker, eventually. The motor will be rebuilt into a 383 - 425hp hopefully. Will/can go with good used parts or possibly new/rebuilt transmission. Any info and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Manual transmission swap

You're thinking backwards.
Must be the stiff wind every day! LOL!!
Build a motor first then match your tranny and rear gears to it.
You'll be way ahead of the game that way!
