Solidaxle,
Is that black bench seat upholstery from Ricksupholstery.com? I ask because the blue portion looks heat embossed, not embroidered.

here's a couple shots of our 56. We wanted to keep it old school and simple, just like a shop truck should be

Re: show us your interior

I've just GOTTA post these that I've saved and especially the first one. The tailored Mexican blanket. I probably wouldn't do it, but I admit I love it. Looks cool I think.

These other are various I've saved because I liked the look for myself for the future:

Re: show us your interior

My interior is still a couple of days away from being done but I got a pic of the almost complete door panel with door pocket and speakerbox. The final patterns are aluminum including the pocket. I wanted the space in the running board well to be useful and I think this really works well. Maybe give some ideas. The design is a collaboration between me and the upholsterer and he does the work.

Re: show us your interior

Wow, that looks good. Any photos of the metal pieces before the upholstery was applied to the metal? How the metal was assembled?

Re: show us your interior

I saw it but didn't take any pics. It starts as a single piece of aluminum with some special clips.(they look really slick but I don't know much about upholstery stuff) The doors are drilled for the clips. The celulose stuff is applied for strength and resistance to vibration. The pockets are nutserted anc clipped and there's a row of screws attaching to nutserts in a small flange you can't see on the bottom. Pocket can be removed for speaker maintenance if needed. The foam and leather cover all of that.

WHAT "cellulose" stuff? Are you talking about ordinary corrugated cardboard or something else?

Re: show us your interior

The poster board in the first pic(on top with the masking tape) is what he makes all the patterns out of but if you look at the speaker/storage box assembly, it's covered with some stuff that's about 1/8" thick but very pliable and smooth. The actual box structure is made of aluminum. I'm not sure what that stuff is called.

Re: show us your interior

I don't have a build thread. I have lots of pics, but this is a 15 year project just finally coming to fruition and I only discovered this site a couple of years ago. Always willing to share when people want ideas. I'll post some more pics when it's done. The seats are Silverado buckets, done pretty straightforward with the green insert and continuing the French stitch theme.(I don't really know what that means, but he does) I didn't want the head rests and he(upholsterer) hated the arm rests, so the seats have neither. The rear has a storage box/speaker boxes that continue the exterior fender radius theme like the doors. It will be upholstered the same as the doors, with carpet/leather, with a leather upholstered section extending up to the cab double wall below the rear window. The whole theme is to look custom but keep the more simple lines of the stock truck. There's lots of finished metal and body color in the cab. I didn't want to stray to the ornate like I've seen in some and I didn't want upholstery to dominate the interior. I am really happy with the balance we have achieved. This guy isn't the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

Re: show us your interior

I'm not a tailor but I think a good example of a French seam is the inside leg of a pair of Levis. Very strong seam.

Rear storage pocket/speaker boxes to match doors. Seat belt retractors are hidden behind speaker boxes and come out of the top of the back panel for the 3 point set up.

I'm not sure if it's mint color or not. We were trying to pick up the color of the pearl in the ivory exterior color. Think it worked but you have to look at the whole truck to see it. Jury's still out on that one.

The actual color or its name doesn't mean much to me. It is beautiful.

BTW I'm extremely colorblind but that doesn't mean I don't see colors, I just may call them a different name. Green/brown look alike, pink/gray look the same, blue/purple, etc. A few years ago when UPS came out with the ad "what can Brown do for you?" I turned to my wife and asked, "does that mean those trucks are brown?" For 40 years I thought they were green.
